WebMay 14, 2024 · It was 100 years ago…. On July 19th, 1922, the Mystic Drawbridge spreading across the Mystic River in Groton, was opened to the public. It was designed by Thomas E. Brown and built by the J. E. FitzGerald Construction Company. Thomas Brown’s bascule or drawbridge was a new concept in movable bridge technology. WebWhen: July 8th, 2024 1pm to 4pm.
