Chronic phlebitis
WebChronic venous insufficiency is most often caused by the clotting of blood in the deep veins in the legs, a condition known as deep vein thrombosis. This disease can also be caused by pelvic tumors and vascular abnormalities, and it can also happen for no apparent reason. WebPhlebitis refers to the inflammation of a vein. In most cases, inflammation is caused by a blood clot, and is thereby called thrombophlebitis. Thrombophlebitis most often develops in the legs and can be categorized as either superficial thrombophlebitis or deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
